Renewable energy toolkit for SMEs launches

A renewable energy toolkit has launched to help small businesses benefit from the “significant opportunities” presented by the demand for green technologies in the UK’s low carbon built environment supply chain, reports Greenwise Business.

The free toolkit is primarily aimed at suppliers and installers of solar, wind, biomass, hydropower and heat pumps, but will also be valuable to potential investors and procurers of renewable energy technologies, according to its publisher, the Institute for Sustainability.

“With renewable energy production expected to double by 2020 in the UK… this means significant opportunities for SMEs (small to medium-sized enterprises) in the built environment sector,” said Ian Short, chief executive of the Institute, a charity established to support cross sector collaboration in the UK’s green economy.
