Bristol PR firm comments on Government energy reduction consultation
The Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) is inviting consultations on how to encourage permanent reductions in electricity use.
The consultation is asking for perspectives on how to encourage and incentivise the efficient use of electricity: what are the opportunities in all sectors and what are the key barriers that are preventing these from being achieved? The deadline for consultation is the 31st of January 2013.
Content Communications, suggests that it is important that companies engage with Government invitations to consultation, as it provides an opportunity to be part of the process of decision-making on issues that affect them.
Joanna Watchman, Managing Director of the technology PR and marketing firm, Content Coms, says: “We are very interested in the fact that the Government is looking at new models of financial incentives to encourage electricity demand reduction. The cost of energy-efficiency measures can be an obstacle, especially in the current economic climate.”
She adds: “We look forward to seeing the results from the consultation – we are sure there will be a few innovative ideas!”
