Content Coms is on the move: Why new horizons, fresh pastures and an inspirational workspace offer us a special place to call ‘home’
Since our launch over 7 years ago, Content Coms has delivered communications expertise from our central Bristol base. But now the time is right for a change of scene.
A new home at The Glove Factory
In early November, we are relocating our HQ to The Glove Factory, just outside the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath.
By moving our growing business to The Glove Factory, Content Coms will be operating from the very heart of the South West region’s wider sustainability arena. And, because our new base is only 20 miles from our current HQ, it will allow us to maintain our Bristol connections. Plus, of course we can broaden and extend our existing networking opportunities within Bath, Wiltshire and beyond.
A happy, healthy and inspirational environment
Perhaps more importantly, our ‘move to the country’ will give us all a real boost on a human level, too.
We truly believe our new home will offer a happy, healthy and inspirational environment for our team to work and flourish in. At Content Coms, we strive to create the best possible work-life balance for our people and our move makes a very significant contribution to achieving this.
The Glove Factory; sustainability in practice
Our new home is also a perfect example of sustainability in the real world. This fantastic workspace is an inspirational restoration of a handsome industrial heritage building mixed with sensitive new build – all located within 32 acres of open farmland and landscaped grounds.
By basing ourselves in such an interesting and sustainable space, we feel we are supporting our team’s shared passion for the sensitive reuse of industrial buildings, particularly within rural areas.
This approach to building use (and re-use) represents exactly what we believe to be at the heart of sustainability. As such, this is the perfect new home for the next stage of Content Coms’ evolution.
Bristol isn’t the only place to be a part of the low carbon arena
We are conscious that some people may wonder why we would choose to leave Bristol, after all it’s widely considered to be the greenest of cities. To those folks, we say ‘think again’. There is more to the South West’s sustainability scene than just Bristol!
We have thrived in Bristol, but our client base is spread across the UK and Northern Europe. The relocation of our business, within a strategic and sustainable environment, will enable us to do what we do best even better; deliver exceptional communications expertise to the UK and Europe’s rapidly growing low carbon sector. It’s all positive news.
Deurbanisation and carbon metrics; Content Coms leads the way
In the coming weeks, Content Coms will publish a number of blogs and discussions, illustrating the key metrics and criteria we’ve assessed to determine the very best new location for our work, both for our internal productivity and the good of the wider environment.
We will also look at the growing trend of deurbanisation, and explain why our move fits in so well with the inherent logic behind this new business agenda. If this is a topic you’re interested in too, let us know, and join the conversation on Content Coms’ office move. Keep an eye out for our blogs in coming weeks.
Fancy lunch?
If you’re tempted by a spot of country air, we’d love to invite you to lunch (did we mention the Field Kitchen at The Glove Factory?). There’s plenty of on-site parking (unlike our Bristol offices!) and train travel on the Bath / Bristol line is super-easy too.
