Latest Green Deal giveaway runs out of cash in just 24 hours

Up to £24 million worth of funding for solid wall insulation has been allocated to households in England and Wales just 24 hours after the second release of the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) opened for business, writes Click Green.

Officials at the Department of Energy and Climate Change confirmed applications for solid wall insulation have now closed, however, subject to terms and conditions, domestic energy customers can still apply for a share of up to £6 million to make energy efficient home improvements through GDHIF, including:

  • Up to £1000 for installing two measures from an approved list
  • Up to £100 refunded for their Green Deal Assessment if that recommends the measures applied for
  • Up to £500 more if applying within 12 months of buying a new home.
