PM calls for UK-wide fracking
The prime minister has said the government supports plans for fracking wells to be developed across the entire country, writes Utility Week.
David Cameron denied that the coalition government wants fracking to be “confined” to certain parts of Britain.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Cameron said: “I want all parts of our nation to share in the benefits: north or south, Conservative or Labour.”
He added that shale gas has “real potential” to bring down electricity and gas prices because bills go down when domestic energy supply increases.
