Renewable heating boost for social landlords
More social landlords and tenants could soon benefit from renewable heating following changes to the government’s support scheme, writes Energy Live News.
From Spring 2015, registered social landlords will no longer need to have had a Green Deal energy efficiency assessment to apply for Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments as long as they have an Energy Performance Certificate that is less than two years old.
The domestic RHI scheme offers payments to householders and landlords that install green heating technologies such as biomass boilers, heat pumps and solar thermal panels.
The Government has confirmed cooker stoves will also be included from spring next year.
