The latest edition of the EEVS/Bloomberg Energy Efficiency Trends Survey delivers a powerful statement; Brexit would be bad for low carbon businesses across Europe.

Say no to Brexit; energy efficiency’s key message

The vast majority of respondents to the survey, 79%, say it would be in the energy efficiency sector’s best interests for the UK to remain part of the EU.

They found EU-led policy initiatives, particularly ESOS, have supported the uptake of energy efficiency in the commercial sector.

Further, uncertainty around Brexit has impacted 60% of respondents’ business investment decisions, pointing to damaging impacts already resounding through the sector. The signs point to what would happen should Brexit become a reality; a harmful period of faltering investment and a surge of investors exiting the UK.
