Bristol PR agency highlights growing awareness of energy risks

The British Standards Institute has released the results from its poll at SustainabilityLive, which explored how businesses are managing their energy consumption in an uncertain energy market.

The survey found that 77% of organisations identify rising costs as their biggest energy-related concern. The respondents, however, still struggle to implement energy management systems, citing lack of awareness by senior management (37%) and the initial costs of implementing energy-efficient upgrades (32%) as key challenges.

Content Communications, a green technology marketing specialist, urges low-carbon technology companies to effectively communicate the benefits of their products.

Joanna Watchman, Managing Director at the industry PR expert, Content Coms, says: “There is a definite understanding that energy-related risks are growing, but this isn’t always being translated into an uptake of energy management practices.”

She adds: “Our experience with energy marketing has demonstrated that green-tech companies need to clearly demonstrate that energy-efficient upgrades and renewable technologies can help businesses save money – and fulfil the growing demand for green business practices.”
