Content Coms x BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2022: Celebrating the best of the UK Green Economy
It was a big night out for Content Coms and its clients as we celebrated the best of the UK’s green economy at the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2022.
The awards, co-ordinated by the leading green economy publication BusinessGreen – are the UK’s largest and most prestigious green business awards, recognising the companies who are working hard to make things happen. The finalists feature scores of the most inspiring green projects, trail-blazing businesses, and talented entrepreneurs, while bringing together hundreds of business leaders from across the green economy.
This year Content Coms was shortlisted for Communications Agency of the Year. To make the shortlist we had to demonstrate how we have successfully promoted green businesses and communicated the merits of the green economy and sustainable development since the start of 2021.
Our entry included details of our work on decarbonisation-focused campaigns for clients, as well as non-chargeable work and social value contributions. This includes our campaign to clean-up greenwash through the Anti-Greenwash Playbook; the impacts we’re making through Work in Mind; and our commitment to transparency and reporting through our Creative Climate Declaration and Impact Report.
Whilst we didn’t win on the night, we were delighted to be shortlisted alongside other leading agencies in our sector.
The awards, which were held at The Brewery in Central London on June 22, also saw a number of our clients named amongst the finalists – BiU, Ibstock PLC and Capitas Finance – each demonstrating their green credentials in their respective categories.
We were over the moon when long-standing client Ibstock plc was crowned winner of the Manufacturer of the Year category. This is the 25th high-profile (and winning or commended) sustainability award entry we’ve written for Ibstock. It’s an honour to work with them and to tell the story and communicate their tremendous progress on decarbonisation and wider ESG commitments. Our very own key account manager Sarah Wells-Gaston, who has worked on the Ibstock account since 2017, was delighted to collect the award on Ibstock’s behalf.
BusinessGreen’s judges commented that “(Ibstock’s) highly innovative approach to slashing emissions in the high carbon world of brick manufacturing, where the company has pioneered a raft of new approaches and provided a crucial template for others to follow.” High praise indeed – well done Ibstock, we’re so proud of you.
Having achieved a Highly Commended in 2018, it was a fantastic achievement for Ibstock to come out on top in a highly competitive category.
