Energy comms company welcomes new Carbon Trust fund for SME energy upgrades

Energy sector comms specialists, Content Coms, welcomes news that The Carbon Trust is launching a new £7m fund to help small UK businesses replace old, energy-intensive equipment in order to boost efficiency and productivity.

The scheme, which is expected to support 1000 to 2000 smaller businesses across Britain, is hoped to enable participating businesses to invest £55m in energy saving projects, delivering them lifetime energy savings of almost £130m.

Eligible companies will be able to apply for a maximum of £10,000 in capital contributions, which can cover up to 15 per cent of an energy efficiency project or equipment replacement cost, while the fund can also be used to purchase a range of equipment including energy efficient lighting, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and energy efficiency controls.

The scheme will be welcome news to many of Content Coms’ energy efficient technology clients, many of whom find a lack of funding for projects an obstacle to take-up.
