New scheme offers £100m funding for green retrofit projects

A new scheme to provide capital investment for non-domestic energy efficiency retrofit projects in the UK has been unveiled by BRE and its partner Sustainable Development Capital, reports Heating and Ventilating.net.

Up to £100m is available through the new Green Retrofit Investment Programme for investment in building retrofit projects and energy infrastructure projects, where clear energy and carbon emissions savings will result.

The Government’s Green Investment Bank has contributed £50m towards the fund.

The scheme will support projects that deliver reduction in energy demand, cost and greenhouse gas emissions for four areas: building retrofits, renewable heat, combined heat and power (CHP) and urban infrastructure.
