Chairing the ICEL Emergency Lighting Conference
Steering the conversation on building safety and emergency lighting competence
Building safety is fast becoming a core focus area for our built environment team. In September 2023, our CEO Joanna Watchman – was asked to chair the Lighting Industry Association’s ICEL Emergency Lighting Conference. This major event brought together 250 key stakeholders representing the Emergency Lighting supply chain from manufacturer to occupier.
The conference was timely. On October 1st 2023, major changes were made to the Building Safety Act – a response to the recommendations made by Dame Judith Hackitt’s post-Grenfell regulatory review. A passionate advocate for building safety and reform, Joanna steered a full day of presentations, panel discussions and Q&A sessions with expertise and confidence.
