Content Coms helps Norstead celebrate its contribution to building IKEA’s most sustainable store

A beautiful, hardback book is being developed by Content Coms which celebrates the contributions made by the many hundreds of men and women who have worked on a landmark retail project.

This is the third in a series of We Built This books produced by Content Coms for Norstead Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Ltd, part of the Metnor Group.

Norstead asked Content Coms to communicate its part in the building of the latest IKEA store in the UK. The Greenwich store, in south-east London, will be the 22nd IKEA store in the UK and opened early in February 2019.

The store is the embodiment of IKEA’s commitment to sustainability, with solar panels, rainwater treatment, grey-water recycling and a sensory wildlife garden.

IKEA not only aims to reduce its climate footprint by an average of 70% per item by 2030, but also to show its customers how to live more sustainably. The Greenwich store is an exemplar showcase of this philosophy. Shoppers benefit from a roof garden and a learning laboratory where they can learn how to grow their own food and upcycle.

Commissioned by Norstead, the “We Built This” books capture the story of each build project from its start to its finish in words and images* and this latest in the series is the epitome of Content Coms’ style. As with previous editions, this latest book will be written with passion and foresight and will be designed to perfection by our creative partner Mike Garlick. Printing and finishing of the book will once again be undertaken by award-winning environmentally-conscious printer Park Lane Press of Corsham, Wiltshire.
